NVADG and IFAW own many different radios. Some are mobile, some are portable, and some are permanently mounted.

Bendix/King Radios

The purpose of this guide is to instruct the user with the basic information necessary to properly operate NVADGs Bendix/King radios. It is not an instructional guide for advanced radio operations such as programming the radios, or a substitute for classroom radio operations instruction.

Icom F-121

NVADG owns several ICOM F-121 Radios that are set up as a portable radio to be quickly installed into a volunteer's personal vehicle using a cigarette plug adapter and magnetic antennea mount.

Radio Shack RS Pro-2055

There is a Radio Shack Pro-2055 Scanner located in the IFAW rig that is kept in the "Kitchen" area. It is a mulit-band receiver capable of scanning 1000 frequencies.

Icom FR-3000

We have access to two ICOM FR 3000 Repeaters. One belongs to NVADG and has a portable tripod and dual 120 volt/battery-powered power supply. This unit is frequently available and in use on Cohasset Ridge. There is a similar unit owned by IFAW that is permanently installed in the IFAW rig. That unit has a permanently installed power supply and mast antennae. Both units are currently tuned to the NVADG repeater frequencies.

Kenwood TS-2000

This Kenwood TS-2000 is an extremely sophisticated and versitile radio. It is permanenlty installed in the IFAW rig and runs on 2 independently mounted antennas.
