NVADG was activated to provide Mutual Aid assistance to Shasta County for the Carr Fire Emergency Animal Shelter. In addition, we made our emergency shelter supplies available for use.
Ultimately 50 volunteers helped care for over 700 animals and shuttled hundreds of crates, bowls, fans and more to the emergency animal shelter.
As of this writing much of the Reddiing area has been reopened, allowing animals and people to go home. Volunteers are still caring for roughly 240 evacuated animals.
All of this was possible thnks to many many hours of training by volunteers, and the generous donations from the community that enabled us to have a prepared, stocked warehouse.
Thank you all.
NVADG remains on alert should the situation change, and is prepared to assist our neighbors in Lake and Mendocino Counties with the Mendocino Complex.
