Due to the Camp Fire, we have receveived over 250 student registrations and are now forced to close sign ups.

Dates: Saturday and Sunday, January 19 and 20, 2019

Times:  Check in: 0800-0900 (8:00am-9:00 am), Classes start promptly at 0900 (9:00am) and will most likely go all the way to 1700 (5:00pm).

Cost: Registration for new students is $100 for Butte County residents, and $250 for out-of-county residents. The reason for the fee difference is that Butte County requires a mandatory background check for all students. That fee is $150. We have contracted Animal Control to partially pay for Butte County residents who enroll in the class, but outside personnel are not covered, hence the fee difference. Training fee gives volunteers free training for all usual NVADG Animal Emergency Shelter & Evacuation trainings in 2019.  Payment is due at registration.

The North Valley Animal Disaster Group is not a regional training center. We do a great job of training folk to work in Butte County. We allow outside agencies to attend in the hope that they will reciprocate and provide mutual aid when the time comes – and it will. However, as much as we invite "outside" personnel to our trainings, we strongly recommend private instruction geared specifically toward your needs. Several NVADG personnel have formed a private training company called Animal Rescue Training (ART). ( They train NGOs and governmental agencies all over the world. ALL ATTENDEES MUST REGISTER AND PAY IN ADVANCE.  This training will be sold-out. If you are unable to attend after registration and payment, please consider it a donation as there are no refunds.
We're sorry we have to have these new rules, but we lose time and money when people make reservations but don't show up, or cancel late.

1.  RSVP using the Register button at the top of this page.  Since we register you using the information you submit, you need to check the box that says "I consent to this website collecting my details through this form."

2.  Download the 8-page Application Form (click here to download).  Each one of these forms goes to a different jurisdiction which is why some information is requested more than once.  Bring the completed Application with you to class.  Please don't send it to us - it will get lost. We will take your picture at class for the Disaster Service Worker form.
