Introduction to Technical Rescue

Sunday, April 7th

0900-1700

You must attend both the morning classroom and afternoon feild exercise sessions!

Morning session: Butte County Search & Rescue, 3898 Morrow Lane, Chico

Afternoon Session: Across the street from Odyssey Vineyards, 6237 Cohasset Rd, Chico

If you ever thought that hanging on to the end of a rope while dangling from a helicopter or on the edge of a steep cliff is fun, then this is for you!

This introduction will go over the basic equipment, knots, and systems that are most frequently used during technical rescues. If after this introduction we have enough interested folk, then we will schedule a  three-day Low Angle Rope Rescue Operational (LARRO) class.

This is a physically demanding area of operations. For the safety of all concerned, there will be a physical test that must be passed.

Please wear closed toed shoes and long pants. We will provide all safety gear.
