It is with great excitement that we introduce the newest addition to the North Valley Animal Disaster Group (NVADG) leadership team. Please join us in welcoming Aaron Adams as our new part time Volunteer Operations and Readiness Manager.

NVADG relies on the unwavering commitment of our trained volunteers to respond at a moment’s notice when disaster strikes Butte County. Our mission-to help people by helping their animals during an evacuation-demands both unwavering compassion and meticulous operational support.

We believe Aaron is well-prepared to support this vital effort.

Aaron is an accomplished professional with a track record of success in supporting non-profit missions. Her experience is deeply rooted in Northern California, where she has consistently demonstrated a dedication to community engagement and organizational efficiency.

With a focus on operational strategy, Aaron has experience identifying areas for improvement within service-based organizations and implementing solutions to enhance productivity. Her proficiency with supporting technology allows her to streamline processes and data tracking, ensuring that behind-the-scenes systems effectively serve the organization’s goals.

Aaron’s diverse background also includes nearly two decades of medical experience. This includes work in emergency medicine and clinical administration, where she developed an understanding of protocol and efficient daily operations.

Most recently, Aaron has worked with the Girl Scouts of Northern California, supporting membership recruitment and volunteer engagement across Butte, Glenn, and Tehama counties. In this role, she has acted as a liaison for adult volunteers, focusing on providing the support and problem-solving needed to maintain a strong and dedicated volunteer base.

As our Volunteer Operations and Readiness Manager, Aaron will focus her efforts on supporting the individuals who make NVADG possible-our volunteers. She will concentrate on:

  • Providing dedicated support and resources to ensure volunteer retention and satisfaction.
  • Developing and managing training programs to ensure all volunteers have the skills they need.
  • Fostering strong, collaborative relationships with our volunteer team.
  • Streamlining administrative processes to make volunteer coordination more efficient.
  • Maintaining a state of constant readiness to ensure the organization can respond whenever called upon.

And she might just have some help along the way! Aaron’s furry assistant, Oliver, her mini dachshund, loves to travel to work with his mom and is always ready to lend a paw.

Aaron holds an Associate of Social & Behavioral Science from Butte College.

I am truly honored to join NVADG and support the incredible work our volunteers do for the community,” Aaron shared. “Having lived and worked in this region for many years, I have seen the impact of local disasters first-hand. Growing up in Berry Creek and evacuating many times as a child and also as an adult with my children and animals-dogs, cats, and chickens-I understand the anxiety and trauma that families experience. I am dedicated to using my experience to support our volunteers so that NVADG can continue providing vital, compassionate care for animals and their families.”

Please join us in welcoming Aaron to the team! Her passion for service will be instrumental in supporting NVADG’s mission of disaster preparedness and response in the North Valley.
